Cast BiographiesRobert Prosky
The lead character of “Grandfather” is played by veteran stage, screen and television actor Robert Prosky, who is best known for his role as Sgt. Jablonski in the hit TV series HILL STREET BLUES. Mr. Prosky has also appeared in 30 feature films, including MRS. DOUBTFIRE, DEAD MAN WALKING, THE NATURAL, BROADCAST NEWS and HOFFA, and on a number of television series, including VERONICA’S CLOSET, THE PRACTICE, and TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL. Mr. Prosky is also noted as an accomplished stage actor. He garnered Tony Award nominations for A WALK IN THE WOODS and GLENGARRY, GLEN ROSS. John Prosky, son of Robert Prosky, appears in the film as the mail carrier, Gordon, who turns out to be the only visitor Grandfather sees on his birthday. John has had roles in television’s CHICAGO HOPE and BEVERLY HILLS 90210. He also has been a co-star in FRASIER and had guest starring roles in BROOKLYN SOUTH, NYPD BLUE and STAR TREK DEEP SPACE NINE. A veteran stage and screen actress, Sally Wingert plays the role of Grandfather’s neighbor, Kathy, in the film. Her previous film credits include THE STRAIGHT STORY, FARGO and UNTAMED HEART. Sally has also made recent TV appearances in episodes of THE DREW CAREY SHOW and ALLY McBEAL. She has been a longtime member of the Guthrie Theatre company, appearing in a number of stage productions including KING LEAR, OLD TIMES, THE ROYAL FAMILY, THE PLAY’S THE THING and MACBETH. Crew BiographiesBroderick Miller Broderick’s screenwriting credits include DEADLOCK, starring Rutger Hauer and Mimi Rogers, one of HBO’s highest-rated original movies. He also wrote and will direct the upcoming VH-1 original film, THE ROGUES, starring Peter Frampton. His screenplay, MINDHUNTER, a psychological thriller, was produced in Berlin. Broderick wrote the screenplay for Universal’s SLAPSHOT II. His original screenplay, THE ESCAPE ARTIST, has been purchased by Steven Spielberg’s Dreamworks. Greg Stiever Greg’s work has been seen in numerous corporate productions, television commercials and two PBS series, THE DO-IT-YOURSELF SHOW and HOMETIME. In addition, Greg has worked on the film THE MIGHTY DUCKS and several music videos for major recording artists. His own short film, BELLANCA, won a Bronze Medal at the Cannes Film Festival. He produced and directed the award-winning documentary, POLES APART, about polar explorer Ann Bancroft’s Antarctic expedition. Lindy Pieper Wilson Lindy is a 13-year veteran editor at the Sundance Filmmakers Lab. She has edited award-winning commercials, PBS television programs and independent films. Her film credits include PSYCHIC MOM, MY FATHER BY FIRE and Darryl Hannah’s THE LAST SUPPER. Lindy’s work has been recognized at the Berlin Film Festival and the Clio Awards. Paul Hartwig Paul is a leading composer in the Midwest. His work has been heard in a variety of broadcast and non-broadcast productions. Clients include EPCOT Center at Walt Disney World, Hallmark, the Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel and Sesame Street. As an original member of the Minneapolis rock band “Limited Warranty,” Paul was recognized as Best Keyboard Player at the Minnesota Music Awards.
